Happy Culture. Great Results.
We empower our colleagues and ensure they have all they need to succeed
We believe in the power of culture to drive performance. Get the culture right and the work tends to take care of itself. The pathway to a happy, productive working environment is not always easy but we have some key principles that help create the right environment for our people to flourish. We don't have layers of management and endless committees. Decision-making is brisk and based on the practical application of our core values - Adventure, Creativity and Excellence.
Our staff have a voice. And it gets listened to. We survey our staff annually to generate quick wins as well as longer term priorities. We report back using the 'You said - we did' model.
We know that great education is only possible with great teachers. We support our colleagues every step of the way to empower them to deliver high-quality education and care.
We encourage our colleagues to develop their careers with us according to their aspirations through our tailored Career Development model encouraging genuine two-way conversations about roles, responsibilities and making a difference. We pride ourselves on 'Growing our Own', developing strong career pathways at all levels. From our early career teachers to our support staff and our leaders, we ensure each colleague's pathway to progression and continuous improvement is clear with a variety of training programmes available to stretch, challenge and inspire.
We also have established networks throughout the Trust where like-minded colleagues can share experiences and best practice.
As an organisation we constantly ask ourselves the question - will my proposal make a school better, worse, or stay the same? If it's the last two, we don't do it!
“There is something truly unique about The Primary First Trust, a uniqueness that I have never experienced until I joined The PFT. I work with an exceptional team of staff who display nothing but dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism on a daily basis. We champion one another and share excellent practice across all the schools in The PFT- engagement and teamwork are key priorities of ours. The PFT’s amazing progress in recent years is testament to the hard work and dedication of staff and children alike.”
