Charlotte has recently become the Acting Head Teacher at The Academy of Cuxton Schools, having previously been in the post of Deputy Head Teacher. During this time, Charlotte was part of a highly effective Leadership Team, which worked with drive and resilience to improve the school from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good with Outstanding features in Leadership and Management and Behaviour’, under the Ofsted Framework.
During her teaching and leadership career, Charlotte has specialised in both assessment and maths, having trained as an NCETM trainer and delivering regular courses for them. She has worked closely with staff within her settings, across the MAT and Local Authority to significantly improve outcomes in these areas.
Charlotte values the importance of effective self-evaluation and encourages all stake holders to be involved in this process. She has high expectations for all, staff and pupils alike, believing that they should aspire to be the best they can possibly be. To make this possible, Charlotte and her team have created a culture where pupils and staff feel valued and demonstrate perseverance, even in challenging times. She is also extremely passionate about developing all the professionals she works with, by providing and sourcing high quality, bespoke CPD for them. She sees CPD and self-evaluation as a massive driver in maintaining a high quality of education.
At The Academy of Cuxton Schools, there is a strong sense of community; a school value Charlotte is very proud of. The school instils a moral purpose, where by pupils understand that they can and should impact positively on their local community, whilst also appreciating the influence they can have on the wider world.
